Medical Departments and Services

Services offered at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center include 24-hour emergency services, inpatient and outpatient surgery, intensive care, ambulance, adult and adolescent mental health, sleep disorder services, women's health, outpatient oncology, endoscopy, pediatrics, laboratory, pain management, radiology and acute rehabilitation.

Acute Rehabilitation
The inpatient rehab unit specializes in individualized plans to serve patients with various disabilities. Our 10-bed unit is located on the fourth floor of the hospital and includes physical, occupational and speech therapy.

Adult, Adolescent and Geriatric Mental Health
A geriatric unit for 55 years and older specializes in senior disorders such as dementia and Alzheimers.  An adult unit for patients 18-54 years focuses on treating mental illness and/or substance abuse. A separate unit is dedicated to treating adolescents from the age of 10 to 17.

Cardiopulmonary
Cardiopulmonary care, located on the first floor, is designed to help patients with heart and lung disease. The following therapies are provided: holter monitors, cardiac stress and pulmonary function testing, ventilator management and breathing treatments.

Endoscopy
Endoscopy, located on the second floor, is an internal examination of the body using a flexible tube called an endoscope. Endoscopic procedures are crucial in diagnosing diseases of the digestive system including colon cancer, colitis and diverticulitis.

Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery
Surgery, located on the second floor, has a full-service surgical unit that can accommodate inpatient and outpatient procedures. Outpatient surgery allows you to have your surgery, recover and go home the say day.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
ICU, located on the third floor, is for patients who need constant observation and monitoring because of the seriousness of their illness.

Laboratory
The lab, located on the first floor, performs tests on blood, urine and other specimens as ordered by your physician. Lab services are also available on an in-patient and outpatient basis for people who need lab work.

OB/Nursery
The OB/Nursery unit located on the third floor offers a comprehensive variety of services to women of all ages, beginning from adolescence. These services include: primary care for women, treatment of gynecological conditions, pre-pregnancy and pregnancy care. In addition, the nursery is located in the same unit to accommodate new arrivals at the hospital.

Outpatient Oncology
Outpatient oncology services, located on the first floor, include chemotherapy, blood product transfusions and other therapeutic services. The unit provides daily care for adult oncology patients who require oncology nursing care.

Pain Management
Pain management services, located at 304 Teaco Road, develops patient care programs using tools and techniques designed to reduce pain and suffering and enhance the quality of life for those suffering from chronic pain.  Chronic pain may be caused by arthritis, fibromyalgia, cancer or diabetic neuropathy.  In addition, common areas of pain include the lower back and neck.

Pediatrics
The pediatric unit, located on the second floor, is specially designed for children needing hospitalization, but not intensive care services. In addition to providing the best medical care possible, we also offer a fun atmosphere designed specifically for children.

Radiology
The radiology department, located on the first floor, includes X-ray, CT scan, nuclear medicine, 4D ultrasound and an open MRI. Women’s mammography services are also available for the general public.

Sleep Disorder Services
Sleep disorder services, located on the second floor, provides diagnosis and treatment for sleep disorders including sleepiness, snoring, sleep apnea, fragmented sleep and insomnia.
